3. Yes, big difference. A laser level is used for short range(inside a house for example) a digital level can cover long distances(some can reach 500linear meters for a reliable measurement). The laser level projects a laser beam to a wall or roof. The digital level projects a laser beam that reads the stadia just like the optic reader of the stores… you know, bar codes. A laser level can cost $20, but the digital level will range from $2K. Good luck.

   I would have thought that a laser level projects a laser beam along a wall so you don't have to draw a line on the wall, while a digital level gives you a precise digital readout of the angle you are off against true horizontal (without a laser beam).
